Ever wonder what it feels like to be maced?

Image
I have never been afraid of dogs. I have a diploma in Animal Care and worked at an Animal Hospital for a while. Not to mention, I’ve been around dogs for a long time and have two now – one being a Yellow Lab. But, I moved to the country when my mom died and then in 2008 started running. That’s when my fear of dogs began . On a few occasions I’ve been chased by unfriendly dogs where the body language was clear. They meant business. One occasion I was running with a friend and her dog and two large dogs, in a pack situation, charged us from quite a distance off their own property and bit my friend’s dog. I had another run-in with the same dogs while on my own. I was their focus at that time. Every time I had a problem I called police or animal control, who did nothing. But the last time I called the police and was crying and screaming into the phone for them to help me . They sent nobody. They did, however, call my useless animal control person. #GoRaw day # 114.. When you go raw you expect a detox. But generally people talk about the physical aspects of detox such as flu-like symptoms. Emotional detox isn't expected, really. But that's what's happening. Lately my irritability has been building. Unsure for how long but at least a week. Sounds, people, drivers, too much talking, too much to do, things not working out... I want to scream. Frequently, each day. I used to have panic attacks daily until I found yoga. It's been a long time since my last one... until today. If you've ever had a full-blown panic attack you know they aren't fun. I was thinking that it was so strange since I'm fully raw and taking other things to support my liver (spinach, greens powder, tummeric, green tea etc) and yet I'm a nervous wreck and emotional basket case. What t...

Innovating

Image
A business I started in 2002, which had grown in leaps and bounds since then, had a major change in the Summer of 2013. I downsized. Big time. I closed the doors to my beloved centre and didn't have a plan. I had no ideas.  The first few months were okay as I continued to teach yoga in local parks and sell holistic products but then came the cold and everything came to a screeching hault. It was awful. I was not at peace with it.  But, then I started reading a new book, which helped. The book is called, "The Greatness Guide"and one  of the things I read that helped me to feel better about my business situation was, " ...just keep innovating. Innovate at work. Innovate at home. Innovate in your relationships. Innovate in the way you run your life. Innovate in terms of the way you see the world. To become stagnant is to begin to die. Growth, evolution and reinvention sustain life."  I still had no ideas but then I read an affirmation that turned everything around ...
